Frequently asked questions

How do I delete my account?

In the app, go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account and its data, and cancels any active subscription. You can also request this by emailing us at the address above.

Why is a feature showing a lock icon?

Some ocean data layers and tools are part of the Premium or Pro subscription tiers. Tapping a locked feature shows what each tier includes. Sea Surface Temperature (recent history), the measuring tool, and logging catches are free and do not require a subscription. Premium adds full SST history, the Layers tab (chlorophyll, altimetry, water clarity, sargassum and current speed), true color, depth contours, current arrows, and weather, waves and tides for any spot you tap. Pro adds the fishing forecast, Deep Analysis, GPX export, automatic ocean conditions for logged catches, and catch analysis.

I subscribed but don't have access to a feature. What do I do?

Try signing out and back into your account from Settings → Account to refresh your subscription status. If that doesn't resolve it, email us with the address you subscribed with and we'll look into it directly.

Where did the Chlorophyll and Altimetry tabs go?

They’re now part of the Layers tab. Tap the name at the top left of the map to choose Chlorophyll, Altimetry, Water Clarity, Sargassum or Current Speed. Chlorophyll, water clarity and sargassum also let you pick a daily, 3-day or 5-day view in the same menu.

What’s in the Weather & Tides panel?

Tap a spot on the map, then the sun-and-cloud button on the card that opens (Premium). You get the wind, gusts, seas and sky now and every 3 hours for the next 5 days; the official NOAA National Weather Service marine forecast for that stretch of water; high and low tides from the nearest NOAA tide station; sunrise, sunset, first and last light, moonrise, moonset and the moon’s phase; and major and minor feeding times — for today and the next four days (tap a day to switch). Far offshore, beyond the Weather Service’s hourly forecast, you get its offshore forecast instead. Sun, moon and feeding times are worked out on your phone, so they still show with no signal. Tides are for the station named, which may be some distance from the spot you tapped. None of this is for navigation — always check official forecasts before heading out.

How current is the ocean data?

It varies by layer. Sea Surface Temperature refreshes multiple times a day. Chlorophyll, altimetry, water clarity, sargassum and true color imagery typically update once a day or every few days, depending on satellite pass timing and cloud cover. Current speed comes from NOAA’s ocean model and updates every few hours. The app always shows the date of the data you're viewing.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. If you’ve never had Pro, it comes with a 14-day free trial, even if you’ve had Premium before. (On Premium right now? Upgrading to Pro starts right away at the regular price.) Choose Start 14-day free trial on the Plans screen. You’ll enter a card at checkout, but nothing is charged until the trial ends. Cancel any time before then from Settings → Account → Manage Subscription and you won’t be charged. While the trial runs, Account shows the day it ends.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

In the app, go to Settings → Account → Manage Subscription. This opens your subscription management page (hosted by our payment processor, Stripe), where you can change plans or cancel at any time. Subscriptions are sold on our website through Stripe rather than Apple In-App Purchase, so they are managed here and not in your Apple ID subscriptions. Paid plans are currently available in the United States only.

Where does the app have coverage?

The U.S. East Coast and Gulf of Mexico (south to the Florida Straits and northern Cuba), the West Coast from the Canadian border to central Baja California, and the Hawaiian Islands. Sargassum (weed) data is available on the Gulf and Atlantic side only, south of about Virginia (38°N).

What are the AI features, and can I turn them off?

The analyst’s read on a forecast, the local fishing-report summary, and catch analysis are written by Claude, an AI model from Anthropic. The app asks before using them the first time, and you can turn them on or off at any time in Settings → Forecast → AI features. The forecast scores, maps and your catch log work without them. AI-written text can be wrong — treat it as an interpretation. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what is sent.

Why doesn’t the forecast mention a fishing report for my port?

The app searches for public offshore reports from the last 14 days for the ports nearest your forecast area. A line under the analyst’s read tells you which ports had reports, which had none recent, and which couldn’t be checked. Many ports simply have no recent published report.

Can I use this for navigation?

No. Forecasts and overlays are estimates from satellite and model data and can be wrong, delayed or missing. Always use official NOAA charts and marine forecasts, and make your own safety decisions on the water.

Will the forecast guarantee I catch fish?

No. The forecast shows where ocean conditions look favorable — temperature breaks, current edges, color changes and structure — and ranks spots by those conditions. Fish don’t always follow conditions, so it can’t guarantee you’ll find or catch fish. Use it as one input alongside your own experience and local knowledge.

Is my data private?

Yes — see our Privacy Policy for the full details of what the app stores, what syncs to your account, and what (if anything) is shared with third parties.
